THE debate
Vox-Vocis is our way to give everyone who wants to speak, a stage. A stage for them to speak and speak till their jaws don't start aching.
A 'lil Jibber Jabber before getting to the point:
Parliamentary Debates are an integral part of the law school culture; they are fundamental drivers of confidence, extempore speaking and channelize wide thinking process. The event involves two parallel competitions, one between speakers and the other between adjudicators. The teams debate on motions pertaining to different themes in all the rounds. With 4 teams, 4 adjudicators also break into the semi-finals and further into the finals. A team comprises of 3 speakers and an adjudicator (not necessarily). The event will follow the 3 on 3 Asian style of debating. Provision for registering independently as adjudicators in also applicable. The debate competition will take place in two phases, the first phase will comprise of 5 preliminary rounds depending on the total number of teams registered. The second phase will be a knock-out round to identify teams for the Semi-Finals and Final rounds. Each Institution is invited to send 2 teams with each team comprising of 3 members + 1 adjudicator, standard debating rules will apply to this event. Cross teams and independent adjudicator may apply.
